San Diego vacation rental or hotel? When you book your accommodations through San Diego Coast Rentals, you can access much more than a traditional hotel. First, you get an entire condo or private home with more square footage and amenities than a luxury hotel, let alone some chain motel.
Second, there’s privacy. Our condos and homes for rent in San Diego are in some of the city’s best neighborhoods, not along hotel row by the interstate. Our properties include sprawling private estates, homes in gated communities, and numerous beachfront private homes and condos.
Thirdly, there are amenities – and lots of them. When you book a vacation rental with us, you can enhance your vacation in various ways. Here are a few of our favorite perks you can enjoy when staying with San Diego Coast Rentals.
Beach Chair and Umbrella Rentals
No visit to San Diego is complete without a trip to one of our fantastic beaches. It’s a must that you soak up the sun in San Diego, but you must be prepared to hit the sand. Even though our weather is typically ideal, the sun can be unforgiving for many, so you must stay hydrated and cool with plenty of sunscreen.
To enhance your beach experience, we provide individual rentals of beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and beach tents. If you are heading to Mission Beach or Pacific Beach, we have chair/umbrella combo packages available to rent.
- Beach chairs: We have two kinds of beach chairs available for rent. One is a luxury model, and the other is a more basic version. Both are comfy – and much better than sitting on the hot sand. Moreover, our beach umbrellas will keep your entire area shady.
- Beach Umbrellas: Our large and sturdy umbrellas provide enough shade for a few beach chairs. Our 10-foot-by-10-foot umbrellas are great for a larger group, and we also have a smaller half-dome option that’s perfect for one to two people or young children to nap under during a long day at the beach.
San Diego Coast Rentals provides chair and umbrella rentals. When you book your stay, let us know if you would like to rent beach chairs, beach umbrellas, or half-dome tents, and we can either have them waiting for you when you arrive at your rental, or we can deliver. Same-day delivery is available.
Fire Pit Rentals
Kick things up a notch with a fire pit at the beach. Fire pits are popular with groups that want to party and roast s’mores into the night and romantic couples who wish to have a picturesque evening under the stars. Many beaches around San Diego allow fire pit rentals, but there is a high demand, so you must make your reservations in advance.
Our Walk-In, Walk-Out Fire Pit Experience has everything you need for a memorable night on the beach. It comes with a full-size fire pit, four Adirondack chairs, two tiki torches, and two bundles of wood. A second fire pit, more timber, and added chairs are available for an additional charge.

Bike Rentals
Do you want to cruise the beach and the boardwalk on two wheels during your vacation? You’ll need a bike rental, and we’ve got you covered. Nearly all of San Diego’s beaches are bike-friendly, and bike lanes are all over the city. On the San Diego beach scene, beach cruisers are popular. There are even tandem bikes for couples and families.
Several businesses rent bikes in San Diego and Mission Beach. We recommend companies with discounted deals and ample supply of beach cruisers, hybrid bikes, tandem bikes, BMX-style bikes, and Trail-A-Bikes (a towable beach cruiser for young children). Skateboards, two-wheel baby carriers, and rollerblades are available to rent.
Rentals are flexible: You can rent by the hour, day, overnight, four days, or an entire week. Rent a basket for your rental bike. Add $2 to a full day or $5 for up to a whole week. Safety gear, including helmets and pads, comes with each rental.
Jet Ski Rentals
If you want more excitement in the water than just splashing around in the waves, think about a jet ski rental for a few hours or a few days. Jet skis (also known as Sea-Doos or Waverunners) skim over the water and are a hit with both adults and children. Children can ride together on a two-seater while a parent drives.
Jet ski rentals are available in San Diego Bay and Mission Bay. Rental times come in one-, two-, four-, and eight-hour increments.
Kayak Rentals
Kayaking is a family-friendly and fun way to explore the bays and coves around San Diego. It’s not too difficult to learn how to paddle, and soon you’ll be up close and personal with marine wildlife, including dolphins, whales, sea lions, and beautiful natural formations of the Pacific Ocean.
You can rent your kayak and head out on your own or sign up for a kayaking tour led by an experienced guide. Kayak rentals include a kayak, wet suit, paddle jacket, dry bags, and soft car racks. Single and tandem kayaks are available. You can rent by the hour, day, or week, whichever you prefer.
Paddle Boarding Rentals
Stand-up paddle boarding, or SUP, has grown in popularity over the past few years. It’s like riding a big surfboard but standing up. If jet skiing and kayaking are a bit much for you, consider a calm, relaxing ride on a stand-up paddle board. You don’t even have to get too wet if your balance is good and you stay clear of the wakes of boats and jet skis. Paddle boarding is extremely popular around San Diego, both on the ocean and in the many large bays, like Mission Bay. Paddle board rentals include a board and paddle; you can rent by the hour, day, or week.
Fishing Excursions
The waters around San Diego offer all kinds of fishing tours. The city is home to some of the biggest and most modern sports fishing fleets at Carlsbad, Mission Beach, and Point Loma. With more than 70 miles of coastline, you can cast into the waters and vie for:
- Albacore
- Barracuda
- Bigeye
- Bluefin
- Bonito
- Calico Bass
- Cow Cod
- Dorado
- Lingcod
- Marlin
- Red Rock Cod
- Rockfish

Local fishing companies provide a variety of fishing excursions, including half-day trips, ¾-day trips, or even 5- or 10-day tours far out into the Pacific Ocean or into Mexican waters. Trip availability depends on the time of year. During the summer, you can fish all night. In the spring and fall, there is excellent fishing near Coronado Island. Wintertime offers full-day bottom fishing.
San Diego Coast Vacation Rentals has good relationships with some of the best sports fishing outlets in the area. We can help you get a great deal on a fishing trip. Contact us for more information on sports fishing adventures in San Diego.
